The Cast: Who's Who (March 2017)

Guys,

A ton of new faces, although most of them are more of a tease for the future in CLAW. Red Raven is technically the only new "wrestler" this month, but I've included everyone's identity.

Review: Beast vs. Kid Dynamite (Thunders Arena)

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

I'm back with Kid Dynamite's second match with Thunders Arena. Beast vs. Kid Dynamite gives us another chance to see if the new bodybuilder is for real. He did well in the ring against Eagle, but now he's on the mats facing one of the toughest studs there is. How does it go?

Look at those tummies ... two musclemen
taking a flex break.

UPDATED! Review: Eagle vs. Kid Dynamite (Thunders Arena)

GUYS, SEE THE COMMENTS SECTION FOR AN UPDATE FROM MR. MIKE HIMSELF! THE AUDIO HAS APPARENTLY BEEN EDITED TO REMOVE THE EXTRANEOUS NOISE.

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

Call it karma. I'm a good person, so I deserve good things to happen to me. While I was at work on Friday, checking personal emails on my iPhone, I saw a promo email featuring Kid Dynamite. I saw he was facing Eagle and Beast. I was going to buy both matches once I got home. Before that happened, Mr. Mike read my mind and sent me both. Everything's coming up Milhouse!

The best part is that both videos are really good. Kid Dynamite is a great addition to the roster. Even if I had bought these, I'd be happy. Let's start with Eagle vs. Kid Dynamite.

It's a major muscle battle!

Review: Superboy (Cam Zagucci) vs. Max Quivers (W4H)

It's no secret I'm a sucker for all things that combine superheroes with wrestling. I've bought superhero wrestling videos from BGEast, Can-Am, Muscle Domination Wrestling and Wrestler4Hire  I'm a member of Eye of the Cyclone. I've checked out more amateur attempts from guys. It's a particular passion of mine and it's not easy to satisfy.

So when Wrestler4Hire puts guys in costumes on their streaming list, I'll always check it out. And when the guy is Cam Zagucci as Superboy, I'm checking it out immediately.

Superboy, look out!

PSA: Bruce Ballard for $13.95 Until 3/26 (RHW)

Guys,

Bruce Ballard is one of Rock Hard Wrestling's best stars and now all his videos are on sale for just $13.95. This includes SD and HD downloads, but not something called ... DVD? Whatever that means. Either way, Bruce is worthy of your attention.

Bruce vs. Ethan

Bruce is ranked #4 in my RHW talent rankings, behind only Jake, Alex and Dash. Yes, looking at RHW only, I like him more than Austin, Ethan or Z-Man. To me, those three excel more at other places. Regardless, he's pretty great and like Alex and Dash, he's unique to RHW.

I'd say that Bruce has four phases ...

Review: Beast vs. Joey King (Thunders Arena)

Once again, Thunders Arena launched a must-buy combination in conjunction with an awesome sale. Beast vs. Joey King was simply too much for me to resist, especially with the St. Patrick's Day deals. And so I bought it along with the Valentine's Day match featuring Blayne vs. Tristan Baldwin and an older Dozer vs. Eagle Custom Series video. It is the rope and tickling-centric clash, which looked fun, but I wasn't willing to pay full price for it. It shouldn't be confused with the wonderful Dozer vs. Eagle mat match, which I also own.

Simply irresistible.

Review: Biff Farrell vs. Charlie Evans (MDW)

I think this is the first Muscle Domination Wrestling video I've reviewed here. I'm an infrequent and cautious customer of theirs, only buying a few videos each year if they catch my fancy and I'm sure they're appropriate for my sensibilities. I usually leave it to Bard to cover their exploits, but I think this one went undiscussed. Maybe he didn't like it. I did, but maybe because it's something I've been asking for - Biff Farrell in a dominant role.

Big Biff in control of Charlie

So when I ask for something and fate hands it to me without any effort, talking about it is the least I can do. In this case, it's Biff Farrell vs. Charlie Evans. Both won Cavey Awards in 2016, Biff as Favorite Jobber and Charlie as co-star of Favorite Match of the Year.

Review: Marco vs Tristan Baldwin (Thunders Arena)

I've been a sucker for Aryx Quinn/Tristan Baldwin ever since he showed up. The stud had a flawless smooth tanned body with gorgeous pecs, broad shoulders, an impossible trim waistline, and fantastic ass. More than that, I loved his attitude. The military muscleman had a ton of it, starting as a heel then deftly transitioning into heel-jobber territory.

So when I saw Tristan vs. Marco over at Thunders Arena, I figured it was worth checking out.

Did the WWE Steal My Idea?

Back in December, Javier explained the premise of Rival Pro Wrestling to Buck (here) ...

"With me under his control, Javier starts explaining his idea, which is a "found footage" deal featuring guys in classic pro gear doing 80's pro action ..."

Today, WWE.com promoted "Southpaw Regional Wrestling", a "found footage" deal featuring guys in classic pro gear mimicking 80's pro style. Do they read my blog or is it just coincidence? Dun, dun, dun ...

All kidding aside, I'm actually excited to see this. I hope they have actual wrestling as a part of this deal. It seems like they'd have to, right? Check out the pics below ... they've done a nice job with some of the characters, from John Cena as an announcer to Rusev as a Hillbilly Jim type. The 7-minute video and 1:30 promo are on WWE.com now.

CLAW 1: Ryker vs. Kwame

Locker Room, CLAW Training Facility, Arlington VA

As I stand naked in the locker room, I'm still thinking about last night's CLAW show. I mindlessly pull my practice gear out of my bag as I run through every moment of last night's match against Dante. We nailed it. We hit every one of our spots perfectly. We had the crowd going wild. I'm still high on energy. It's why I had to come to the gym two hours early.

My name is Ryker and I've come a long way to have this feeling again. I was moving up in the pro wrestling world with Hawk, my former best friend and tag partner. It all came crashing down when our greatest opportunity became our greatest nightmare. After being driven out of pro wrestling, my career - hell, my life - was saved by Batman aka Cody, my very own real-life hero. He's amazing and so is his buddy Ben, the owner of the Championship League of American Wrestling. Ben gave me a second chance when no one else would.

Yeah, so Ben took a huge risk on me and I owe him everything. Well, half of everything, since Batman is also owed everything. Lucky for me, they don't want anything from me except for me to succeed. And CLAW has been awesome so far. The guys. The work. Ben's an amazing marketer, so even though we're a small DC-based federation, we get a ton of attention. It's only been a month, but I feel like it's home.

Suddenly, I see a shadow move past me out of the corner of my eye. I'm startled, dropping my jockstrap and turning too fast. I fall against the lockers. BANG! I calm down as I see it's just Kwame. The handsome black man is stripping down, his flawless brown skin and ripped muscles looking incredible. He's laughing, "You okay, Ryker?"

Kwame surprises me

Review: Vinny vs. Rex (Thunders Arena)

You know, Thunders Arena action has been really good this year. The guys are great, but I'm really liking the wrestling, which is great to see. When I saw Vinny vs. Rex aka Jaxton, I impulsively decided to just buy it and I'm glad I did.

Two muscle beasts battle it out.

Review: Joey King vs. Kelly King (BGEast)

Heel Bash 2 is the video that caught my attention from BGEast catalog 117.2 when I saw it on the Arena. Admittedly, so did Custom Combat 2, as it sounds fun to program your own match with Jonny Firestorm and young Lane Hartley before he bulked up and went caveman. However, that match is DVD only, so we all know that's out for me, due to my lack of a DVD player. So this is the only compilation I'm getting.

Luckily, it's pretty darn good. I already liked Kid Karisma vs. Ethan Andrews (reviewed here). Let's look at Joey King vs. Kelly King.

Review: Blayne vs. Eagle (Thunders Arena)

Full disclosure: This match was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

Blayne vs. Eagle from Thunders Arena is surprisingly great. I don't mean that in a negative way against these studs. I obviously like both these guys a lot, so it's not a surprise that I enjoyed it. However, when Thunders puts non-pros in a ring, I expect hot guys, but have low expectations of the action. Here, I really loved the action. That's the surprising part.

Two of Thunders' best put on a show.

PSA: Movimus' Free Match

Movimus Wrestling is offering a free streaming match. If you're not a regular visitor to their site, you could miss it. And if you're like me, Movimus is one of those sites where you're not quite sure what you're going to get. It took me a long time before I finally purchased my first match.

Review: Kid Karisma vs. Ethan Axel Andrews (BGEast)

BGEast is creating some exciting new matchups with these bad boy battles. I loved Josh Goodman vs. Cole Cassidy (reviewed here). And the minute I saw Kid Karisma vs. Ethan Axel Andrews in Heel Bash 2, I knew I'd be OTA'ing it. These are two seasoned studs with strong heel credentials, full of cocky attitude and the talent to back it up.

Like Josh vs. Cole, this match delivered against my high expectations. It wasn't quite that great, but I really enjoyed this back-and-forth match. I'm avoiding spoilers by telling you upfront that none of these images come from the final 10 minutes of this 34-minute video.

One of the best bulges in the business
takes on BGE's award-winning butt.

The Cave Undercard 15: Moneymaker vs. Red Raven

This story is a reader commission

As I walk into the locker room, I ask, "Hey Spence, you ready?"

"Almost, Cody. Just gotta tie up my boots!"

Spencer, lacing his boots

I wait as he finishes then admire him as he stands up. One of the perks of co-owning The Cave, a gay-oriented, superhero-themed wrestling video producer, is getting to check out the talent before they hit the ring. I have to admit that Spencer is gorgeous and his choice of hero character and gear make him a very popular stud with fans.
